For Friday (8:30)

Hello all,

Today we had a visit from Comrade, Matt's dog. Comrade helped us as we explored causation. Remember, you could agree that you were not at fault based on the two principles of causation.

We had our last knowledge nugget on Zafon's Shadow of the WInd. We spent 20 minutes writing two GOOD paragraphs. We then shared our texts with each other, and we crafted a basic evaluation of the texts. We discussed what we had learned about paragraphs during this semester: Some items learned:

Most paragraphs are like mini-papers.
Paragraphs must be 6-8 sentences.
Paragraphs must have claims, evidences, and warrants.

Nice work on your knowledge nuggets and the discussion.

We concluded the class with a brief overview where I collected the questions/prompts for the timed writing essay portion of the class. Remember, one of these will be selected as the timed writing question. A prize will go to the person whose essay prompt is selected.

For Friday:

Read: n/a (go volunteer)

Write: Work on volunteering or writing one page overview/explanation of why you can't and how you have volunteered.

Do: Volunteer. (Revise project one and two for re-evaluation.

Take care, and email me with questions,

Kat
