Finalists for the Timed Writing "Getting a Prize" Contest

The finalists are:

8:30
Think about the heroes journey. Vogler says there are twelve stages that make up the heroes journey. Pick a piece of literature or another piece of work(movie, book, story, etc) you think sums up the heroes journey completely (or the best) and wh

Looking back on the work (projects, readings, etc) that we have done in this class how have you grown as a person? Also what rhetorical appeal would you say is most used in this class to engage the audience?

Do we all want to leave something behind to immortalize our souls? What did you have to leave behind for the future generations to remember you by? Is it a book, a paper, or may a poem or a reward you won? What do you want to leave behind for the world to find?

10:45
Discuss the benefits of traditional forms of texts and compare to the benefits of technological texts in regards to persuading an audience. Is one superior over the other? Use our class assignments and projects to back up your arguments.

In the interview with Toni Morrison, she stated that because she was an editor the knowledge she gained there helped her as a writer. Since you are now a scholarly writer, assess what qualities and/or life experiences have made you the writer you are today.

With all things considered in this course, what aspect/assignment/skill has been the most valuable to your learning? Was it the weekly readings, Vogler, learning to write a research paper, finding and evaluating sources, etc. Be sure to describe why and how the particular assignment/skill/aspect has been valuable to you and how it will influence your life in the future.

11:45
Discuss the importance of sharing your research and presenting it to the surrounding community.

A life experience that caused you to change your mind, opinion, beliefs about a topic, moral, etc, and what you learned and gained from the shift of view on the topic, etc.

How has Volger been used/seen throughout our readings this semester? Have most of the readings followed the format? How or how not?

You can still submit a question or prompt. One will be selected for each class.

Take care, and thanks,

Kat
