For Weds. 11:45 March 25 SPRING BREAK

Hello all.

We first did a little knowledge refresher about potted plants. Our reactions showed us how we hide aspects of ourselves. This hiding led us into a discussion about teaching and learning. We also discussed the importance of researching and engaging in scholarship. We first explored the notion of the interview, as this is the most "timely" method of researching. You will be conducting an interview over the break. Remember, select a person who you feel will make a claim with evidence towards your area of inquiry.

We also, in a similar way, had a discussion about why learning matters and why teachers should teach. This led us to watch an overview from Richard Miller's MLA address. Everyone in class constructed a short piece answering these questions, and for this, they received a Get Out Of Jail Free card good for one Vogler annotation.

Today we had a brief class. For spring break:

Read: No Vogler
On the Road Selection for the 25

Write: I-Search reading and research
You will also need to conduct an interview with a person who is involved in the topic of your inquiry. The interview information is on the i-search document.

Do: Read your research
Write your observations about your research
Conduct your interview.
Relax.

Take care, and email me with questions,

*Remember, I will be out of the country from 3/15 to 3/23, but I will have internet.

Kat
