Hello all,
Today we fought the time change, as most of us were a little out of sorts with the loss of that precious hour on Sunday.
We completed our opening exercise, in an attempt to get our heads into the classroom. We then shifted to listening to Professor Wayne guide us through the Vogler reading. Wayne focused our understanding on his initial reactions to the reading, and he mentioned the importance of the crossing of the first threshold in representing the commitment of the hero to the journey. Professor Wayne also focused on the tests, allies, and enemies section where he discussed the aids, journey, elements, allies, and sidekicks to this portion of the journey. David mentioned the Vogler is bit redundant in his focus and his development. We all had the opportunity to share our perspectives on both chapters.
We then shifted to beginning to conduct research using the databases. Remember, just like you located information for your web-based searches, you too will need to think about the viability of your sources. You need to locate five articles relating to your research inquiry. You need to bring these five source records to class on Weds.
For Weds.:
Read: Kafka Book III
Write: MLA Citations for 5 sources
Do: Bring the MLA citations to class on Weds.
Take care, and thanks,
Kat
